Inspiration is essential for every writer. You can’t wait to be inspired. You need to find your own inspiration, because it’s an essential part of writing.

1. Reading Regularly with Intention
It may seem obvious but great writers must read. It’s not enough just to read. You need to read with purpose and analyze the writing. Take note of the way the writer writes. Pay attention to the grammar, their character development, even their punctuation and grammar.
Take the time to look at the book cover for design inspiration when you are writing your novel. You can read the biography of the author or look at the artwork in the book.
Try reading something outside your comfort zone. Try reading a non-fiction book or comic for a change if you are a fiction fan. You’ll get the best ideas when you do something new and try something new.
2. Allocate time to explore creative outlets outside of work
Like all other parts of the body, we need to exercise our imaginations and creative minds. The best inspiration often comes when we are free to create outside of our normal work.
Do whatever helps you to daydream or tap into your subconscious. Writing in a journal every day or writing about your dreams as soon as you wake up can be a great outlet for many writers.
You don’t need to write in order to feed your brain. Try other creative activities like cooking, painting, textile work, or doodling. You can boost your creativity by doing anything that stimulates your mind.
3. You Can Try Eavesdropping
Many great writers got their best ideas by listening to random strangers.
You can do some listening the next time that you are on a train or a bench in a park. You will gain a better understanding of other people, learn about their challenges, and find out new perspectives.
You can use other people’s conversation to help you create dialogue that is realistic and raw.
Respect the boundaries of others if eavesdropping causes you discomfort. If a couple begins speaking in low voices, it’s a sign that they are talking about something private and do not want to be heard. Respect it.
